This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Honduras, +6 more countries.
• Maintain precise and comprehensive case notes, records, and documentation.
• Collaborate with opposing counsel and their paralegals regarding scheduling, documentation, and case-related issues.
• Review relevant Rules of Civil Procedure to ensure that litigation tasks are completed in accordance with procedural guidelines.
• Oversee litigation calendars, including depositions, hearings, deadlines, and other significant case dates.
• Track deadlines and follow up on outstanding tasks.
• Verify case information and documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with deadlines.
• Support the attorney in advancing litigation matters effectively.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain litigation files and case documentation.
• Anticipate subsequent steps in active litigation matters and take necessary action.
• Identify upcoming litigation tasks and prepare requisite documents ahead of time.
• Follow up on pending documentation, discovery, and other case requirements.
• Communicate with clients to gather detailed and accurate information.
• Assist in preparing discovery materials and collecting relevant information and documentation from clients.
• Draft petitions, pleadings, disclosures, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related documents.
• Handle confidential and sensitive client information with professionalism and discretion.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, case managers, and other members of the legal team.
• Prior experience as a Litigation Paralegal or Legal Assistant in a litigation setting.
• Hands-on experience in supporting active litigation matters.
• Strong comprehension of litigation processes, procedures, and the Rules of Civil Procedure.
• Experience in drafting petitions, pleadings, disclosures, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related documents.
• Experience managing litigation calendars, including depositions, hearings, deadlines, and other vital case dates.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Familiarity with LexisNexis/Lexis or Westlaw is preferred.
• Knowledge of legal practice management and document management systems is advantageous.
• Comfortable working with digital case files and virtual communication platforms.
• Proficient in communicating with clients to obtain detailed and accurate information.
• Professional and confident in interactions with attorneys, opposing counsel, clients, and other parties.
• Highly detail-oriented with a strong dedication to accuracy and precision.
• Proactive and self-motivated, capable of anticipating the next steps in a litigation matter.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Solid understanding of litigation procedures and deadlines.
• Ability to draft and review litigation-related documents with accuracy.
• Strong follow-through and ability to ensure outstanding tasks do not fall through the cracks.
• Capacity to manage multiple active matters and competing deadlines.
• Able to work quickly and effectively under pressure.
• Confident in working independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong judgment with the ability to prioritize tasks within active litigation files.
• Professional, reliable, and discreet in handling confidential client information.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
