This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Oversee assigned civil litigation cases from initiation through discovery, deposition, hearings, and trial preparation phases.
• Keep precise and organized case files, client documents, discovery materials, correspondence, and litigation records.
• Examine, analyze, summarize, and arrange pleadings, discovery responses, medical records, and other documents relevant to the case.
• Assist attorneys with drafting complaints, interrogatories, requests for production, and additional discovery-related materials.
• Acquire, organize, and monitor medical records, non-party records, and supporting documentation necessary for ongoing cases.
• Liaise with witnesses, experts, clients, and other participants in the case while ensuring clear and professional communication.
• Prepare attorneys for client meetings, depositions, hearings, and trials by making sure relevant materials are complete and readily accessible.
• Aid in deposition preparation, which includes organizing documents, exhibits, records, and case summaries.
• Provide support for federal court litigation matters while adhering to relevant filing, case management, and documentation requirements.
• Acquire knowledge and consistently implement the firm’s client-specific documents, naming conventions, workflows, and document management protocols.
• Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or Legal Studies, or a recognized Paralegal Certificate.
• Minimum of 3 years of practical civil litigation paralegal experience, preferably within the 3-5 year range.
• Significant experience supporting U.S. litigation related to personal injury cases.
• Familiarity with the litigation lifecycle, including pleadings, interrogatories, discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Experience handling medical records and non-party records in litigation cases.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Capability to manage deadlines, organize multiple active cases, and work independently after receiving training.
• Experience in personal injury defense or broader civil defense litigation.
• Background in federal court litigation.
• Experience with Florida civil litigation (preferred).
• Prior experience supporting a U.S. law firm remotely.
• Proficient in communicating with and coordinating experts and witnesses.
