This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile, +3 more states.
• Utilize Clio, Dropbox, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and VoIP calling software to facilitate case management, document organization, communication, and collaboration within the team.
• Ensure that case files and documentation are organized and accurate.
• Provide assistance with various litigation and legal administrative tasks as assigned.
• Communicate with opposing counsel on matters related to litigation.
• Operate efficiently in a fast-paced setting while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Inform judicial offices of significant case developments, such as settlements, when appropriate.
• Aid in case setup following the filing of new lawsuits.
• Prepare and dispatch conferral emails to opposing counsel as necessary.
• Draft proposed orders, cover letters for judges, and other court-related correspondence.
• Compile witness lists, exhibit lists, and other documentation pertinent to cases.
• Draft initial pleadings and other litigation-related legal documents using established templates.
• Communicate with judicial assistants about case-related inquiries, updates, and administrative issues.
• Create and maintain accurate contact information for judges and judicial assistants.
• Research and add judges to the firm’s case management system when required.
• Review newly assigned cases and determine the appropriate judge based on the assigned case number.
• Keep precise records of requests, communications, and follow-ups related to litigation matters.
• Draft motions to compel, including those aimed at obtaining deposition dates when opposing parties are unresponsive or uncooperative.
• Proficient or fluent in both English and Spanish.
• Prior experience in a legal setting is essential, especially in litigation.
• Formal paralegal certification or licensing is not mandatory.
• Experience in supporting U.S. litigation matters is preferred.
• Experience in drafting pleadings, motions, orders, or other litigation documents is advantageous.
• Familiarity with communicating with opposing counsel, courts, judges, or judicial assistants is preferred.
• Availability Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Timezone: EST/EDT.
• Experience with Clio for case management is required.
• Experience with Dropbox for document storage and management is needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook for email and communication is required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams for internal communication is necessary.
• Experience with VoIP calling software or applications for occasional telephone communication is preferred.
• A resume in .DOC format is required for application submission.
