Linux Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist cross-functional delivery teams in the design, implementation, and maintenance of intricate systems for federal IT modernization projects.

• Provide technical direction and ensure the reliability and scalability of systems.

• Align engineering solutions with business and mission goals in regulated environments.

• Design, develop, and sustain system architectures across various applications, infrastructures, and platforms.

• Offer technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

• Analyze system requirements and convert them into scalable, secure solutions.

• Ensure system performance, reliability, and availability through proactive monitoring and optimization efforts.

• Collaborate with developers, DevOps teams, security personnel, and stakeholders to ensure system design meets business needs.

• Facilitate the integration of systems across different environments and platforms.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and system specifications.

• Engage in Agile delivery processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, or related fields.

• Extensive experience with system architecture, distributed systems, and cloud platforms.

• Proficient in programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, or similar).

• Familiarity with infrastructure, networking, and system integration concepts.

• Experience working in Agile environments.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Preferred: Experience in supporting federal government contracts or in regulated environments.

• Preferred: Experience with system migrations.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Ansible, Linux, and RedHat.

• Preferred: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

• Preferred: Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

• Preferred: Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure system design.

• Preferred: Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, or similar).

• Must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

• Must disclose whether sponsorship will be necessary to work in the United States.
