Linux Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Assist in the strategy, deployment, and optimization of Linux servers.

• Engage in the development and execution of technology projects driven by infrastructure and business needs.

• Create and uphold operational best practices for Linux environments.

• Monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues related to operating systems, software, and cloud services.

• Aid in security audits and remediation initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with encryption standards, manage certificate lifecycles, and uphold security controls.

• Facilitate patching and configuration management using Terraform, Ansible, or related automation tools.

• Address service interruptions and contribute to root cause analysis.

• Recognize trends and recurring challenges to devise reliability solutions.

• Enhance the efficiency and reliability of the Linux environment through technical automation.

• Manage the enterprise network that supports web hosting environments, focusing on system integration, access, performance, and security.

• Collaborate with management and team members to deliver excellent customer service.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience with RedHat Linux.

• A minimum of 2 years in cloud-based Linux deployment, ideally with AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Familiarity with Terraform, Apache HTTPD, Tomcat, OpenSSL, AWS, and GCP.

• Capability to interpret and apply security requirements to infrastructure and platform solutions.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving.

• Dedication to automation, operational efficiency, and minimizing technical debt.

• Ability to adjust to shifting priorities and work autonomously.

• Willingness to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation for system support.

• Authorization for permanent employment in the U.S.; sponsorship is not available.
