Lingala to French OPI/VRI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner while adhering to the Interpreter’s Code of Conduct.

• Be ready to take notes throughout the calls.

• Acquire familiarity with industry-specific terminology, especially in healthcare and medical fields.

• Convey all messages accurately and completely, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions are made.

• Provide exceptional customer service while performing interpretations.

• Enable effective communication between individuals with limited French proficiency and clients by ensuring precise and thorough interpretation of messages.

• Uphold professional standards of practice.

• Engage in internal professional development training.

• Demonstrate a commitment to obtaining further professional certifications.

• Maintain communication with and report to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code policies for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (French) and a native speaker of the target language (Lingala).

• At least 1 year of experience in over-the-telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation agency.

• Solid understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA).

• High school diploma obtained in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, active listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
