Licensed Professional Counselor, Virginia

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Provide counseling to clients or patients either one-on-one or in family sessions to help them overcome dependencies, adapt to life changes, or implement necessary modifications.

• Initiate internal referrals to Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) if there is minimal to no improvement within 8 weeks of outpatient therapy.

• Assist clients in developing skills or strategies to effectively address their challenges.

• Create and execute treatment plans informed by clinical expertise and knowledge, setting SMART goals with patients.

• Formulate treatment plans within 72 hours post-intake and review or amend them every 4 weeks.

• Complete and manage all client-related documentation, including diagnostic records and progress notes.

• Finalize progress notes within 48 hours following each session.

• Prepare and uphold all required treatment records and reports.

• Assess clients' physical or mental health status based on the information provided by the clients.

• Collaborate with staff on clinical evaluations or treatment plans within 2 days of initiating care.

• Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or specialists when necessary.

• Stay updated on counseling advancements through professional literature, courses, seminars, and networking with social service agencies.

• Accept referrals and maintain a minimum client workload of 18 hours per week.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's Degree from an accredited institution.

• Two years of professional experience in a counseling environment.

• Active Licensed Professional Counselor license in Virginia is mandatory.

• Over 2 years of experience in healthcare, particularly in oncology, is preferred.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in Telehealth settings is preferred.
