Financial Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Act as the main contact for investigating and establishing patients’ financial obligations for provided services.

• Gather patients’ financial obligations ahead of scheduled procedures.

• Verify patient benefits, deductibles, co-insurance, and copays prior to procedures.

• Conduct outbound professional and facility calls to inform patients about their financial responsibilities.

• Confirm insurance eligibility before services are delivered.

• Strive to collect and record patient obligations before procedures take place.

• Keep documentation of patient interactions in accordance with organizational standards.

• Maintain collection logs by practice for accurate reconciliation.

• Work in collaboration with practices and Revenue Cycle leadership.

• Team up with Surgical Coordinators to assist with prior authorizations and review add-on procedures.

• Handle revenue cycle communications, including emails, faxes, written correspondence, and internal Practice Management messages.

• Execute other assigned tasks as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.

• Prior experience in healthcare financial services and/or revenue cycle is preferred.

• Strong understanding of insurance identification and processes, billing procedures, and healthcare regulations.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Bilingual candidates are a plus.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in electronic health record systems.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
