This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Deliver professional nursing care to residents of varying ages in long-term care settings under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
• Exhibit a thorough understanding of nursing principles and practices within the complete scope of nursing expertise.
• Implement age- and population-specific standards to address the physical and psychosocial needs of residents in accordance with their care plans.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate data indicative of residents’ conditions and provide necessary care.
• Identify issues, propose solutions, and respond effectively to emergency situations.
• Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
• Participate in resident assessments and administer prescribed medications or treatments.
• Offer technical support to healthcare professionals as required.
• Record resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary considerations.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the community.
• Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
• Communicate effectively while preserving the confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Advise residents, family members, and/or resident advocates under clinical supervision regarding prevention and treatment plans.
• Develop self-care programs utilizing resident education principles.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Travel is necessary to support multiple locations within a 75-mile radius of your permanent address.
• A minimum of 3 months experience in Long Term Care is required.
• Availability for at least 30 hours per month.
• One weekend shift per month is required.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited practical nursing program and hold a Licensed Practical Nurse designation.
• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
• Completion of a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience throughout the lifespan, or a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility is required.
• Currently possess an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the State Nursing Board and/or hold multi-state licensure privileges.
• Must obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
• Complete the necessary annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.
• An associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• At least 6 months of experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
• $10/hour premium for all hours worked.
• $1.25/hour differential for weekend shifts.
• $1.25/hour differential for evening/night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
