This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee centralized patient follow-up, which includes reviewing test results, providing education, coordinating subsequent steps, and addressing inquiries.

• Convey patient needs, concerns, and follow-up requirements to healthcare providers and clinical leadership.

• Accurately and promptly document follow-up interactions in medical records.

• Retrieve, transfer, and manage patient medical records for follow-up care, referrals, audits, and quality management purposes.

• Arrange follow-up appointments and coordinate patient care.

• Provide patient information through phone or electronic communication while ensuring confidentiality.

• Facilitate requests for medication refills from patients.

• Assist in procedures such as ICA, abortion, colposcopy, LEEP, vasectomy, and others on specified clinic days.

• Support healthcare providers during examinations and procedures by preparing, assisting, and documenting as necessary.

• Administer medications, including injections, and complete the required documentation.

• Perform laboratory tasks, including specimen collection, processing, and preparation for transport.

• Conduct macroscopic tissue examinations post-abortion and manage the documentation, reporting, and follow-up of specimens.

• Assist in staff training and education days, patient flow management, and clinic operations.

• Uphold infection control, safety, and quality control standards.

• Collaborate effectively with health center and affiliate staff.

• Act as a preceptor for newly hired Medical Assistants or LPNs.

• Participate in mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.

• Comply with policies regarding professionalism, confidentiality, safety, and patient privacy.


⛳️ Requirements

• Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of New York.

• Current certification in CPR/BLS.

• Experience in family planning/GYN is preferred.

• Ability to uphold confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.

• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

• Cultural sensitivity and the capability to work with diverse populations.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to perform well under pressure with minimal supervision.

• Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends as required.

• Basic to intermediate computer skills and knowledge.

• Capability to travel to other centers when necessary.

• Valid Driver’s License.

• Ability to lift/carry 10 lbs. or less frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

• Ability to frequently bend/squat/kneel, constantly twist/turn, frequently climb stairs, and type/keyboard constantly.
