Licensed Dispensing Optician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Supervise the operation of the designated mobile eye clinic.

• Perform preliminary eye exam tests while upholding high professional standards.

• Measure, fit, and adjust frames in accordance with written optical prescriptions.

• Assist patients in selecting frames to guarantee the best fit and satisfaction.

• Complete and prepare daily reports, adhere to deadlines, and follow up with patient caregivers.

• Conduct vision screenings utilizing a Welch Allyn Spot Check Vision Screener.

• Dispense glasses to large groups of student patients.

• Study and adhere to Vision To Learn health and safety protocols.

• Maintain driver safety standards while driving, parking, and utilizing the vehicle.

• Set up the clinic, monitor and restock inventory, and manage efficient paperwork processes.

• Load, secure, inspect, and refuel the vehicle as required.

• Keep the vehicle and work areas clean and organized.

• Take on additional responsibilities as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Required Optician Diploma.

• Optician License/Certification (COA, COT, NCLE, and ABO) is mandatory.

• A valid driver's license is required, with a clean driving record.

• Familiarity with the geography of the greater Charleston area and proficiency in phone GPS.

• Driving transcript must be submitted.

• Proven experience working with children and diverse populations.

• Must successfully pass company and CMS background checks and a drug test.

• Experience with Microsoft Office applications—Outlook, Excel, Word.

• Ability to quickly adapt to EHR reporting and project management systems.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills when engaging with children, site contacts, patient families, and both internal and external stakeholders.

• Eagerness to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and possess technical skills.

• Willingness to be cross-trained to broaden skill set.

• Self-motivated individual capable of implementing Vision To Learn protocols and working remotely with minimal supervision.

• Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.

• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

• Capable of lifting up to 20 lbs. and maintaining well-paced mobility for an 8-hour shift, which includes standing, walking, bending, and squatting.

• Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
