This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +6 more states.
• Provide legal and administrative assistance to in-house attorneys in their daily operations.
• Conduct research and investigations for Bank business units that seek legal advice.
• Identify legal issues, risks, and potential liabilities across bank departments and help address them.
• Interpret and apply laws and government regulations in collaboration with in-house attorneys.
• Draft and file litigation, corporate documents, correspondence, and similar materials.
• Offer case management and litigation support.
• Assemble, catalog, and assist attorneys in reviewing discovery and due diligence materials.
• Coordinate and assist with legal holds and document production in response to discovery requests.
• Support the development of policies and procedures for various bank departments.
• Administer and utilize LexisNexis, CounselLink, Logikcull, RSA Archer Regulatory Intelligence, and other third-party legal platforms.
• Take ownership of tasks and challenges encountered in the designated role.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree.
• A minimum of five (5) years of paralegal or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in an in-house legal department and/or financial institutions is preferred.
• Familiarity with teller, deposit, and loan operations is appreciated.
• Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, CoPilot).
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Capacity to prioritize and adapt to workload fluctuations in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, results-oriented, and highly confidential atmosphere.
• Capability to manage stressful situations and a diverse workload while delivering calm, professional customer service.
• Proficient in communicating in person, via phone, and through electronic channels.
• Ability to frequently use a computer, type, and maintain focus on a monitor.
• Capacity to sit, walk, and/or stand for extended durations.
• Ability to bend and reach as necessary.
