Legal Counsel – Healthcare Contracting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer prompt, practical, and actionable legal counsel to internal business partners and leadership.

• Draft commercial prescription benefit management (PBM) contracts for CVS Health’s health plan and employer clients/payors.

• Provide guidance to internal partners regarding PBM program terms and related issues.

• Interpret and manage PBM services agreements.

• Deliver legal and regulatory compliance interpretation in addition to general corporate legal advice.

• Identify business and legal risks while recommending solutions that align risks with business objectives.

• Cultivate an understanding of the business and operational goals of assigned internal clients.

• Establish and sustain positive relationships with clients throughout the organization.

• Collaborate with team members and business partners on legal matters and projects.

• Advise directly to PBM division leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in transactional and/or complex contracting within a healthcare company or law firm.

• At least 2 years of experience in healthcare law.

• Fundamental knowledge of HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, the False Claims Act, and the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute.

• Must be admitted to practice law in at least one state.

• Willingness to travel up to 5% (including by air).

• Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor are mandatory.

• Experience in healthcare or PBM is preferred.

• Proven expertise in negotiating and drafting complex contracts.

• Capacity to work collaboratively within a large, intricate corporate framework.

• Exceptional written and oral communication abilities.

• Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
