This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +2 more countries.
• Oversee and direct all legal aspects related to sales and procurement within Amcor Rigids EMEA.
• Act as the primary legal advisor for the sales and procurement departments.
• Assist with strategic initiatives, contract negotiations, regulatory guidance, and dispute resolution.
• Create, evaluate, negotiate, and manage intricate sales and procurement contracts.
• Administer long-term supply agreements, framework agreements, and key supplier relationships.
• Enhance and refine handbooks, forms, training resources, and operational processes.
• Prepare and provide training on commercial law to sales and procurement teams.
• Lead or assist in litigation strategy and pre-litigation efforts, negotiating settlements as necessary.
• Oversee or coordinate the work of external legal counsel.
• Offer comprehensive guidance on commercial contracts, compliance, dispute resolution, and special initiatives.
• Support in resolving commercial and compliance disputes through mediation, arbitration, or litigation.
• Aid in M&A execution, due diligence, and integration processes.
• Identify legal risks and collaborate with Compliance on regulatory compliance and ethical governance.
• Enhance legal processes, templates, tools, and operational frameworks.
• Report directly to the General Counsel of the business group and liaise with the broader Legal team.
• Juris Doctor degree with the ability to practice law in a European Economic Area country, ideally the UK, Germany, France, or Italy.
• At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in commercial law practice.
• Extensive knowledge in drafting and negotiating high-value sales and procurement contracts.
• Proficiency in risk management, service levels, and long-term strategic sourcing.
• Demonstrated ability in managing claims and litigation processes.
• Proven history of resolving disputes between customers and suppliers through negotiation and formal legal actions or arbitration.
• Solid training background within an international law firm or private practice.
• In-house experience in a large organization, directly collaborating with business stakeholders.
• Previous experience in manufacturing or complex B2B environments is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with global supply chains, global sourcing, and the legal challenges of industrial services.
• Experience in an international or multi-jurisdictional context.
• Proficiency in navigating cross-border contracts, international trade laws, and various legal systems.
• Knowledge of emerging sales and procurement regulations, including ESG compliance (CSDDD), CBAM, EUDR, GDPR, and contemporary trade sanctions is considered advantageous.
