This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate commercial contracts, including cloud services and SaaS agreements, amendments, nondisclosure agreements, RFP responses, statements of work, licensing agreements, BAAs, DPAs, and other cloud-related transactions.
• Facilitate commercial transactions towards prompt resolution while considering business goals, customer needs, legal aspects, and risk management.
• Provide guidance to Sales and business stakeholders on data privacy, data security, artificial intelligence, and other legal factors influencing technology transactions.
• Create and sustain scalable contract templates for repetitive transactions and changing business models.
• Collaborate with Sales, Data Privacy, Security, Product Counsel, Finance, and other cross-functional teams on contracting strategy, processes, and risk management.
• Enhance contracting efficiency and consistency through standards, templates, negotiation playbooks, and best practices.
• Keep track of legal and regulatory changes impacting cloud software, SaaS, data privacy, security, and artificial intelligence.
• Offer clear, business-focused legal counsel and independently address complex issues.
• Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree from an accredited law institution.
• Active membership in good standing with the bar of a U.S. state or territory.
• Authorized to live and work in the United States.
• Over 2 years of relevant legal experience.
• Significant experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Capability to deliver practical, business-oriented legal counsel with sound judgment and confidence.
• Strong communication skills with stakeholders and comfort in engaging directly with customers and business partners.
• Ability to handle complex workloads, prioritize competing issues, and work independently.
• Excellent collaboration skills across legal, sales, privacy, security, product, and finance teams.
• Familiarity with legal and regulatory challenges affecting technology transactions, including data privacy, data security, and artificial intelligence.
• Preferred: experience in commercial and contract law, including cloud, SaaS, licensing, and strategic technology transactions.
• Preferred: experience in customer-facing negotiations, technology and cloud computing legal issues, contact center technology or customer experience platforms, and intricate compliance matters.
