This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate various commercial agreements, such as SaaS/platform contracts, publisher agreements, data and licensing contracts, marketing and media insertion orders, NDAs, and strategic partnership agreements.
• Cultivate a comprehensive technical understanding of data flows and technology to provide guidance on commercial deal frameworks.
• Counsel internal stakeholders on commercial and contractual risks, offering practical advice.
• Collaborate with Sales, Partnerships, and Product teams on deal structuring, product evaluation, and contract execution.
• Enhance and maintain contract templates and playbooks.
• Identify, investigate, analyze, and mitigate risks related to commercial, data security, and privacy regulations.
• Contribute to improvements in Legal team processes and knowledge management.
• Work collaboratively across departments with Sales, Partnerships, Product, Engineering, Finance, and People teams.
• Report directly to the Chief Legal and Privacy Officer.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law institution.
• Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar, maintaining good standing.
• Over 8 years of legal practice experience, specializing in commercial transactions.
• Proficient in drafting and negotiating commercial and technology agreements.
• Experience should ideally encompass SaaS, data, advertising, and/or partnership agreements.
• Background in transactions involving financial institutions and major technology firms.
• In-depth knowledge of privacy, data governance, and AI, including familiarity with the EU AI Act.
• Strong business insight.
• Exceptional communication, drafting, and negotiation abilities.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth setting with competing priorities and strict deadlines.
• Familiarity with or willingness to work on macOS and Google Workspace; proficiency in both macOS and Windows is a plus.
