This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
β’ Assist Volta's Executive team alongside the Legal and Compliance team with agreements related to fundraising, strategic initiatives, and operations.
β’ Draft, assess, and negotiate commercial contracts, which include vendor, procurement, customer, and partnership agreements.
β’ Provide guidance to internal stakeholders regarding contractual risks, obligations, and negotiation strategies.
β’ Support procurement and delivery teams with agreements concerning equipment, construction, and services for data center projects.
β’ Aid in entity structuring, formation, corporate workflows, and governance negotiations.
β’ Enhance and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and approval workflows.
β’ Monitor contractual obligations and assist in compliance with commercial terms.
β’ Collaborate with the General Counsel / VP Legal on matters related to regulations, taxes, and policies.
β’ Assist in due diligence for partnerships, financing, and other transactions.
β’ Keep abreast of relevant legal and regulatory changes that may impact the business.
β’ A minimum of 4 years of experience as a commercial lawyer, whether in-house or at a law firm.
β’ Ideally, experience supporting clients in infrastructure, technology, or energy sectors.
β’ Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active bar membership in a relevant jurisdiction (US / England).
β’ Proficient in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
β’ Experience with agreements related to vendors, procurement, or construction is advantageous.
β’ Capacity to handle a high volume of contracts while managing competing priorities.
β’ Exceptional judgment, meticulous attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
β’ Comfortable interacting directly with business stakeholders outside of the Legal department.
β’ Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-growth environment.
