This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Act as the second Legal Hire at OpenArt AI.
• Manage a diverse array of legal issues, such as licensing agreements spanning various countries and continents, patent preparations, immigration matters, corporate governance, invitations to law schools and conferences, collaboration agreements, U.S. trademark office actions, AI-driven legal workflows, state and international taxation, enterprise sales contracts, data privacy and information security assessments, and financing activities.
• Optionally take ownership of customer, vendor, partner, and creator contracts throughout the entire process, including intake, drafting, negotiation, finalization, and filing.
• Enhance contract templates, playbooks, and systems.
• Concentrate on an area that aligns with the candidate’s expertise, interests, or desired growth.
• Collaborate closely with a small team and utilize AI tools for drafting, review, research, and triage.
• Experience as legal counsel; the posting explicitly encourages applications from candidates with 25 years, 25 months, or 25 weeks of experience.
• Candidates may be three decades or three hours removed from law school.
• A genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for the role.
• Capability or interest in managing areas such as licensing agreements, patent preparation, immigration, corporate governance, collaboration agreements, trademark issues, AI-driven legal workflows, taxation, enterprise sales contracts, data privacy, information security, financing, or legal operations.
