Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Deliver practical, business-oriented legal counsel that supports commercial operations.

• Ensure compliance of the business with applicable legal and regulatory standards.

• Draft and negotiate agreements related to SaaS subscriptions, cloud services, software licenses, Statements of Work, professional services contracts, and partner agreements.

• Review and negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers, resellers, OEMs, and various third parties.

• Provide advisory support to stakeholders on technology contracts, licensing, commercial risks, regulatory matters, and contractual disputes.

• Offer guidance on data privacy and security obligations, including GDPR compliance, data processing agreements, and customer security terms.

• Develop and enhance contract templates, negotiation playbooks, guidelines, and legal procedures.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage external legal counsel as necessary.

• Stay informed on emerging trends in privacy, technology, and commercial law.

⛳️ Requirements

• A law degree along with the necessary professional qualifications and admission to practice law.

• Minimum of five years' experience in commercial contracting.

• Ideally, experience within a SaaS, software, or broader technology context.

• In-depth knowledge of software, cloud, data, and commercial contract law.

• Familiarity with data privacy and security requirements applicable to SaaS solutions, including knowledge of GDPR.

• Outstanding skills in legal drafting, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management.

• Strong business acumen, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively, balancing legal risks with commercial goals.
