This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee employee leave of absence initiatives, including medical, parental, family care, disability, military, statutory, and personal leaves across various countries.
• Act as the main contact for employees and managers concerning leave processes, eligibility, documentation, pay implications, and return-to-work expectations.
• Collaborate with third-party administrators, disability carriers, payroll, HR partners, and internal stakeholders to coordinate leave cases.
• Handle leave intake, case tracking, documentation review, approvals, status updates, and case closure.
• Ensure the maintenance of precise leave records, employee communications, and case documentation within HR systems and case management tools.
• Track leave timelines and guarantee that necessary actions are performed within the established deadlines.
• Assist with workplace accommodation processes and planning for return-to-work.
• Ensure adherence to relevant leave, disability, accommodation, and employment regulations.
• Elevate complex issues to senior team members.
• Aid in audits, reporting, and leave-related metrics.
• Recognize opportunities for process enhancements.
• Contribute to leave-related projects, system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Benefits, Payroll, and HR teams to ensure precise pay, benefit administration, and employee deductions.
• Employ technology, reporting, and AI-driven tools to enhance operational efficiency and employee communications.
• A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Over 3 years of experience managing leave of absence, disability, accommodation, or related HR programs.
• Experience in administering leave and accommodation programs in a multi-jurisdictional setting.
• Familiarity with global leave, disability, accommodation, and return-to-work practices.
• Proficiency in using HR technology platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
• Expertise in managing leave of absence, disability, and workplace accommodation programs while ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Capability to manage employee cases from intake through to return to work.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Excellent organizational and case management skills.
• Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.
• Experience with HR technology platforms, preferably Workday, case management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to utilize technology and AI-enhanced tools.
• Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when managing sensitive and confidential employee information.
• A global perspective and capability to navigate diverse practices across multiple countries and jurisdictions.
