Learning Environment Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive reviews of education space requests by analyzing blueprints, understanding enrollment and program requirements, and creating 2-D and 3-D designs.

• Choose furniture, storage solutions, carpets, and additional materials for both indoor and outdoor classroom settings.

• Balance developmental best practices with budget limitations and spatial constraints.

• Generate drawings, renderings, and design outputs for educators, administrators, and internal teams.

• Utilize knowledge of early learning and K–12 curricula and standards to cater to diverse learner needs.

• Collaborate with colleagues to convey Lakeshore's vision to educational stakeholders.

• Address inquiries and represent Lakeshore's methodology with assurance and care.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in classroom instruction, curriculum development, or a similar educational position.

• Proven ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints or floor plans, or comparable experience with space planning in an educational setting.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

• Willingness to learn design or specification software such as CAP/CET Designer.

• Bachelor's degree in education, interior design, environmental design, or a related discipline — or equivalent practical experience.

• Capacity to work remotely and independently, managing multiple project requests at once with robust follow-through.

• Practical experience in space planning, furniture specification, or learning environment design is preferred.

• Familiarity with Lakeshore's early learning or K–12 product lines is preferred.
