This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

đź“‹ Description

• Collaborate with Talent Planning, People Insights, Talent Enablement Partners, OpCo HRVPs, and FLT stakeholders to translate business strategy and talent indicators into specific capability requirements and learning outcomes that OpCos can implement right away.

• Work alongside Talent Planning to grasp OpCo needs, informing the most prevalent and high-impact learning and capability gaps for centralized content creation.

• Present learning demand in an 80/20 fashion: identify the reusable core (enabling OpCos to act swiftly) and the "last mile" customizations necessary for local relevance and acceptance.

• Create and develop curricula and materials that OpCos can utilize with minimal friction—clear, practical, and designed for real leader/employee application in the flow of work.

• Establish and uphold a shared repository of learning content addressing key capabilities, including: (TBD) GEM leadership capabilities, FBS Fundamentals, people leadership, change management, onboarding, and other priority capabilities as outlined in the roadmap.

• Construct content with a reuse-first approach: commence with off-the-shelf learning when suitable, then incorporate Fortive or OpCo examples only when they enhance effectiveness, uptake, and outcomes.

• Facilitate the delivery of Fortive-wide learning moments and curriculum (ECO, GMDP, FBSLO, ALE, FLS, etc.).

• Take ownership of designing and developing change management curriculum and capability-building content, in collaboration with the FBS Office, for localized delivery through TE Partners.

• Operate with a focus on quick pilots: test with one or more OpCos, evaluate usefulness and adoption, iterate swiftly, and scale successful methods.

• Conduct thorough VOC loops with Talent Enablement Partners, learners, and OpCo HR/people leaders to enhance content clarity, usability, and real-world application.

• Establish lightweight effectiveness metrics (participation, completion, on-the-job usage, leader feedback, and business-aligned outcomes where feasible) and utilize results to refine the roadmap.

• Maintain a library of leading practices across OpCos (what’s effective, resources, methods, facilitators) so OpCos can leverage proven tools rather than starting anew.

• Enable straightforward benchmarking across OpCos and with external sources to keep content relevant, practical, and impactful.

• Build and oversee an internal and external pool of expertise (SMEs, facilitators, vendors, platforms, and content resources) to enhance development speed and quality—this includes researching and selecting the best-fit options as needs change.

• Listen, test, and incorporate feedback—while maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring content is easy for OpCos to reuse and deploy.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Education, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

• Generally, 6–8+ years of experience in learning design, curriculum development, leadership development, talent development, instructional design, or similar capability-building roles.

• Strong aptitude in learning design and curriculum development (needs analysis → learning objectives → content/curriculum creation → pilot → iteration → scale).

• High inclination for experimentation and iteration; comfortable with rapid content testing, incorporating VOC, and continuous improvement.

• Resourceful builder mindset: capable of curating, adapting, and efficiently integrating off-the-shelf learning (rather than creating everything from the ground up).

• Proficiency with modern learning delivery methods and tools (blended learning, cohorts, leader toolkits, micro-learning, virtual/in-person facilitation guidance, AI) to facilitate adoption across OpCos.

• Ability to build and manage a network of internal and external expertise (SMEs, facilitators, vendors, content providers) and to appropriately apply benchmarks and leading practices.

• Comfortable collaborating across a decentralized, multi-OpCo model—balancing local context with shared content, consistency, and reuse.

• Familiarity with change management frameworks and the capability to design change capability content that aligns with FBS and operating cadence.

• Learning technology orientation: capable of shaping content strategy that aligns with LMS capabilities and promotes straightforward access, search, and reuse.
