
Lead, Transaction Monitoring

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
β’ Lead, mentor, and develop the current TM global engineering team.
β’ Take responsibility for sprint delivery, code quality, and on-call health.
β’ Manage the implementation of the offchain transaction monitoring detection suite.
β’ Spearhead the development of on-chain transaction monitoring, encompassing wallet-level and protocol-level monitoring.
β’ Construct and maintain the data pipelines that support on-chain transaction monitoring.
β’ Create and justify high-level and low-level designs that address system architecture, data models, detection logic, and threshold/tuning frameworks.
β’ Collaborate with Global Product on the on-chain roadmap.
β’ Convert regulatory and customer requirements into actionable engineering plans.
β’ Design reusable architecture and promote engineering resource sharing across transaction monitoring and trade surveillance.
β’ Collaborate with compliance, customer success, and solutions teams to enhance alert quality, minimize false positives, and address client tuning requests.
β’ 8+ years of experience in backend engineering.
β’ 2+ years of experience in a leadership or technical lead role.
β’ Strong knowledge of the financial ecosystem, including fintech, payments, banking, or cryptocurrency.
β’ Solid grasp of financial crime or compliance concepts.
β’ Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.
β’ Proven track record in producing high-performance concurrent code.
β’ Current hands-on experience in reviewing pull requests and debugging production issues.
β’ Demonstrated design ownership at both architecture and detailed implementation levels.
β’ Experience with high-throughput, low-latency data systems.
β’ Familiarity with streaming technologies such as Kafka or similar.
β’ Experience with analytical databases like ClickHouse, Snowflake, or similar.
β’ Experience in distributed batch processing.
β’ Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally, with non-engineering stakeholders.
β’ Experience with AI coding and utilizing coding harnesses.
β’ Knowledge of on-chain/blockchain data, including chain indexing, wallet clustering, and DeFi protocol mechanics.
β’ Exposure to trade surveillance or market abuse detection.
β’ Experience at a RegTech vendor or within a bank/exchange compliance technology function.
β’ You'll oversee an entire product line, not just a component.
β’ A dedicated team is already in place.
β’ There is a clear regulatory impetus behind the work.
β’ A roadmap that progresses into the convergence of on-chain and market surveillance.
