This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Serve as the primary technical expert for Nextracker installation tooling, tool-support workshops, and field deployment initiatives.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee the delivery, setup, commissioning, calibration, relocation, and demobilization of tool-support workshops and field equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and controls-related issues.
• Convert tooling schematics, product literature, service documentation, and safe operating protocols into actionable field instructions and corrective measures.
• Develop, review, and sustain Job Hazard Analyses, site-specific safety plans, method statements, inspection records, and EH&S documentation.
• Lead field tool-support operations in collaboration with owners, customers, subcontractors, construction teams, Field Operations, Engineering, Service, and management.
• Anticipate tooling demand, construction timelines, site specifications, staffing requirements, equipment availability, and documentation priorities.
• Offer technical guidance, coaching, and training on tool setup, safe operation, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation best practices.
• Enhance preventive-maintenance strategies, troubleshooting manuals, inspection checklists, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
• Document field observations, failure patterns, corrective actions, and lessons learned while communicating recommendations to Engineering, Product, Quality, Service, and Operations.
• Keep service records, parts usage, tool inventories, calibration logs, repair documentation, and customer communications up to date.
• Balance safety, quality, scheduling, customer commitments, and cost in field-related decisions.
• Advocate for safe work practices and adherence to federal, state, local, customer, and Nextracker EH&S regulations.
• Perform related duties and travel to customer and construction sites as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, Maintenance Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressively responsible experience in supporting installation tooling, construction equipment, industrial equipment, field service, equipment maintenance, or a related technical environment.
• Proficient working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems.
• Ability to interpret and apply schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience in troubleshooting complex equipment issues, identifying root causes, and executing safe, durable corrective measures.
• Proven track record of independently leading technical work at active construction, manufacturing, industrial, or customer sites with changing priorities and minimal supervision.
• Experience in developing or providing technical training and mentoring less-experienced technicians.
• Familiarity with field safety practices, Job Hazard Analyses, equipment inspections, lockout/tagout procedures, and relevant EH&S requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Capability to maintain precise service, inventory, maintenance, and project documentation.
• Ability to establish and sustain effective relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% as necessary.
• Availability to work extended or non-standard hours when required and support active construction sites.
• Preferred: experience with solar tracker installation tools, torque/tensioning equipment, hydraulic power units, electrical controls, calibration systems, or related renewable energy construction equipment.
• Preferred: experience with forklifts, reach forklifts, skid steers or Bobcats, scissor lifts, aerial work platforms, laser levels, transits, and other construction or material handling equipment.
• Preferred: current or previous certifications for forklift operation, aerial lift, OSHA/authorized safety training, first aid/CPR, or similar equipment and site safety programs.
• Preferred: experience supporting multi-site deployments, customer-facing field service programs, new tool introductions, or equipment standardization initiatives.
• Preferred: experience with maintenance management, service ticketing, inventory, calibration, or enterprise documentation systems.
