This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• Act as the principal technical resource for Nextracker installation tools, tool-support workshops, and field deployment initiatives.
• Plan, organize, and carry out the delivery, setup, commissioning, calibration, relocation, and demobilization of tool-support workshops and field equipment.
• Identify and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and controls-related issues.
• Convert schematics, product literature, service documentation, and safe operating procedures into actionable field instructions and corrective measures.
• Develop, review, and maintain Job Hazard Analyses, site-specific safety plans, method statements, inspection records, and EH&S documentation.
• Lead field tool-support operations in collaboration with owners, customers, subcontractors, construction teams, Field Operations, Engineering, Service, and management.
• Anticipate tooling requirements, construction timelines, site needs, staffing, equipment availability, and documentation priorities.
• Offer technical direction, coaching, and training on tool setup, safe operation, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation best practices.
• Create preventive-maintenance protocols, troubleshooting manuals, inspection checklists, training resources, and standard operating procedures.
• Document field observations, failure patterns, corrective actions, and insights, and communicate recommendations for product and process enhancements.
• Maintain service records, parts usage, tool inventories, calibration logs, repair documentation, and customer communications.
• Balance safety, quality, timelines, customer commitments, and costs in field decision-making.
• Advocate for safe work practices and adherence to federal, state, local, customer, and Nextracker EH&S standards.
• Perform related tasks and travel to customer and construction sites as business requirements dictate.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, Maintenance Technology, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressively responsible experience in supporting installation tools, construction equipment, industrial machinery, field service, equipment maintenance, or a comparable technical setting.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in reading and applying schematics and technical documentation.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting intricate equipment issues, determining root causes, and executing safe, effective corrective solutions.
• Experience in independently managing technical work at active construction, manufacturing, industrial, or customer sites with shifting priorities and minimal supervision.
• Experience in developing or providing technical training and mentoring junior technicians.
• Familiarity with field safety protocols, Job Hazard Analyses, equipment inspections, lockout/tagout procedures, and relevant EH&S regulations.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to keep precise service, inventory, maintenance, and project records.
• Capability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% as required.
• Flexibility to work extended or non-standard hours when necessary and support active construction sites.
• Preferred: Experience with solar tracker installation tools, torque/tensioning equipment, hydraulic power units, electrical controls, calibration systems, or similar renewable energy construction machinery.
• Preferred: Familiarity with forklifts, reach forklifts, skid steers or Bobcats, scissor lifts, aerial work platforms, laser levels, transits, and other construction or material-handling equipment.
• Preferred: Current or prior certifications for forklift operation, aerial lift, OSHA/authorized safety training, first aid/CPR, or similar equipment and site-safety programs.
• Preferred: Experience in supporting multi-site deployments, customer-facing field service programs, new tool introductions, or equipment standardization efforts.
• Preferred: Experience utilizing maintenance management, service ticketing, inventory, calibration, or enterprise documentation systems.
