Lead Technical Advisor – FIFO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee, train, and assist Wabtec technical advisors along with customer/subcontractor teams in the maintenance and repair of Diesel-Electric locomotives for CTG in Guinea.

• Act as a point of escalation for technical challenges to reduce locomotive downtime.

• Offer technical knowledge regarding safety protocols, maintenance and repair processes, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, material handling, tooling, and contract specifications.

• Advocate for continuous enhancement of safe work practices while overseeing quality, productivity, and adherence to contracts.

• Deliver training and mentorship, owning both preventative and corrective measures.

• Convey work scope, process enhancements, and necessary coordination with cross-functional teams.

• Generate reports covering contractual commitments, locomotive maintenance and repairs, scheduled tasks, quality and reliability improvements, OJT training, materials, open issues, and operational metrics.

• Ensure adherence to Wabtec, customer, and local regulations.

• Perform operational risk assessments.

• Build and maintain customer relationships while addressing their concerns.

• Coordinate field modifications and evaluate their effectiveness.

• Lead Wabtec and customer/subcontractor teams during shifts to guarantee that maintenance is conducted safely and effectively.

• Collaborate with Wabtec operations leadership on customer, contract, and equipment-related matters.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university.

• At least 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role maintaining Wabtec/GE locomotives.

• Wabtec L1 Locomotive Technical training certificate.

• Experience and capability to work in a shop environment and adapt to various shifts as required.

• Familiarity with Wabtec Maintenance and Material management processes and systems.

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to interact with various levels of internal and external customers.

• Proficient in Mandarin and English.

• Lean/Six Sigma certification (preferred).
