Lead Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Provide strong leadership and management at a college site for students aged 14–19.

• Ensure a safe and secure educational environment for students with complex needs and behaviors.

• Instruct a vocational qualification.

• Teach for a minimum of two days per week while fulfilling leadership and management duties for three days.

• Foster effective and supportive relationships with students and their families/carers.

• Manage, implement, and monitor the timetable efficiently.

• Effectively and efficiently deploy teachers and support staff.

• Oversee and coordinate the development of various subject areas.

• Plan, produce, and update schemes of work in accordance with curriculum, inspection, and accreditation requirements.

• Manage and analyze performance data, reporting to the Centre Manager.

• Address areas of underperformance proactively.

• Drive improvements in teaching and learning through observation procedures.

• Manage contribution reviews and establish individual and team performance targets.

• Supervise direct reports and address any staff underperformance issues.

• Support staff training and development initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A recognized QTS qualification (or a willingness to work towards obtaining it).

• Designated Safeguard Lead.

• Experience working with young individuals, including those with complex needs, challenging behaviors, and additional learning requirements.

• Line management experience, including the setting of KPIs and conducting regular supervisions.

• Extensive understanding of teaching, learning, and behavior management strategies.

• Ability to tailor learning experiences to support all learners in achieving their full potential.

• A valid driving license and the capability to drive as part of the role.
