Lead Systems Engineer – Expeditionary Medical Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create engineering strategies that significantly influence mission results.

• Articulate technical ideas and strategic risks to senior leadership and government partners.

• Act as a subject matter expert in the technical field, shaping business and architectural choices.

• Lead Agile teams alongside Product Owners in refining backlogs, planning sprints, and developing roadmaps.

• Assist MSC CANES stakeholders and networks with product integration efforts.

• Execute thorough systems analyses throughout all stages of the product lifecycle.

• Address intricate, multi-domain engineering challenges that combine hardware, communications, cyber, electrical, manufacturing, or mechanical fields.

• Conduct trade studies, functional analyses, and interface definitions to translate requirements into technical specifications.

• Direct technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, cost-risk evaluations, and effectiveness analyses.

• Steer teams in creating secure, cloud-native, and resilient systems suitable for disconnected, intermittent, and low-bandwidth environments.

• Manage cybersecurity controls, compliance standards, and secure coding practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Engage in Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Integrated Product Team (OIPT) meetings for critical system determinations.

• Counsel senior government officials and impact business strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Secret Security Clearance (TS SCI eligible).

• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.

• ISTQB Test Automation Engineer certification.

• ISTQB Agile Technical Tester certification.

• ISTQB Agile Tester certification.

• Master’s or PhD in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field, or equivalent experience with a Bachelor's degree.

• At least 12 years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, or technical program leadership.

• Proven track record of technical expertise, leadership, and proficiency in Agile methodologies.

• Experience in supporting military operations, federal health systems, or expeditionary/operational settings.

• Practical experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, APIs, secure system integrations, and AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Expertise in implementing Agile practices at an enterprise level.

• Familiarity with emerging engineering technologies, distributed systems, or edge-computing architectures.

• CompTIA Security+ certification is a plus.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
