Lead System Credentialing Specialist, Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Manage all verifications associated with an incoming provider’s file.

• Handle all components of provider reappointment files in accordance with the system reappointment schedule.

• Train, onboard, coach, and mentor members of the system credentialing team.

• Direct credentialing team initiatives under the guidance of the Manager, System Credentialing Services and Onboarding.

• Provide constructive feedback regarding file quality and peer performance.

• Implement standardized processes to align with the Munson Healthcare system.

• Consult with leadership and physicians on pertinent medical staff matters in the absence of the manager.

• Coordinate and lead the training and onboarding of new credentialing specialists.

• Prepare agendas and facilitate weekly meetings for the credentialing team.

• Utilize independent judgment within the bounds of knowledge and responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a health-related field and/or five years of experience in medical staff and/or credentialing functions.

• Certification as a Certified Professional Medical Staff Manager (CPMSM) and/or Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS), or eligibility and willingness to become certified within three (3) years of employment.

• Must be a resident of Michigan.

• Must be vaccinated or possess lab-confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella.

• Must receive a flu vaccination during the flu season in the year of hire and annually thereafter, or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption.
