This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and evaluate renewable energy models.

• Develop PSSE, PSLF, TSAT, and PSCAD models for renewable energy plants.

• Execute model quality assessments and benchmark models across various software.

• Comprehend dynamic model block diagrams and adjust parameters to fulfill regional performance standards.

• Assist with interconnection applications, which includes initial plant design, assembling basic preliminary drawings, and completing application forms with design details.

• Perform preliminary system analyses, such as reactive power studies.

• Collaborate with developer clients to grasp their requirements, timelines, design modifications, and feedback from system operators/transmission owners.

• Oversee regional requirements, processes, deadlines, and queue schedules for interconnection applications.

• Address customer design modifications, inquiries, and deadlines.

• Keep updated with regulatory changes, grid codes, and ISO/RTO requirements.

• Conduct studies on voltage and frequency ride-through capabilities.

• Aid in model validation for renewable projects to ensure compliance with NERC standards.

• Remain informed about industry guidance and standards pertaining to modeling and NERC compliance.

• Assist in the development of tools to automate and optimize model quality assessments and analyses.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required, preferably from an ABET accredited program or equivalent.

• A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 3 years directly related to power systems.

• Proficient in steady-state analysis and/or dynamic analysis using PSS®E and PSCAD.

• Previous experience working with or for transmission system operators/transmission owners (such as ERCOT, PJM, MISO, CAISO, etc.) is preferred.

• Familiarity with PSCAD, PSLF, and TSAT modeling is advantageous.

• Experience in programming with Python is preferred.

• Capable of independently completing assigned tasks.

• Proactively manages personal workload, adjusts to changing requirements, and maintains flexibility.

• Must be a self-initiator, open to identifying and implementing improvements.

• Comfortable seeking guidance from the team when acquiring new skills.

• Must have strong analytical skills, be self-driven, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication abilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the capability to build and sustain effective working relationships.

• Willingness to embrace innovation and utilize evolving technology and AI tools.

• Must possess the authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
