Lead Sourcing Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical assessment of intricate components, assemblies, and projects.

• Examine drawings, specifications, and project documentation to identify manufacturing risks, tolerances, materials, and process requirements.

• Provide guidance on the selection of manufacturing processes, capabilities, and suppliers.

• Manage and review the technical tagging framework.

• Serve as the final technical reviewer for complex or high-value quotations.

• Identify and address technical gaps, risks, and ambiguities.

• Offer manufacturing expertise for critical deals and strategic customer initiatives.

• Lead technical discussions with clients and manufacturing partners.

• Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Coach, mentor, and nurture the development of Sourcing Engineers.

• Assist with onboarding and training processes.

• Organize and allocate team workloads effectively.

• Create and uphold a comprehensive technical knowledge base.

• Collaborate with teams across engineering, sourcing, sales, quality, and operations.

• Drive continuous improvement efforts for sourcing and quotation processes.

• Contribute to the development of tools, automation, and data for technical assessments.

• Monitor and report on team metrics and take action based on findings.


⛳️ Requirements

• Higher education in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.

• More than 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting dealing with complex parts or assemblies.

• Background in sourcing engineering, technical procurement, or supplier engineering.

• Strong knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal work, injection molding, casting, 3D printing, finishing, GD&T, technical drawings, materials, and quality standards.

• Demonstrated experience collaborating with suppliers, manufacturers, and cross-functional sourcing and engineering teams.

• Ability to guide, inspire, and develop technical team members.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficiency in English at a B2 level or above.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.

• Flexibility and meticulous attention to detail.
