Lead Software Engineer – IMA Configuration Tool

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, debugging, testing, and review of software applications primarily in C# and Python for IMA Configuration Tools.

• Offer technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior software engineers.

• Collaborate with systems engineers and stakeholders to assess user requirements and convert them into software solutions.

• Ensure that software development activities are in accordance with product specifications, technical requirements, and program goals.

• Work in partnership with cross-functional engineering teams, external partners, and vendors to enhance interoperability, integration, and software reuse.

• Recognize technical risks, formulate mitigation strategies, and suggest solutions to complex engineering challenges.

• Assist project leadership in task planning, defining work assignments, and providing execution support.

• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of software development processes, tools, and engineering best practices.

• Deliver robust, user-centered software solutions that support critical aerospace initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• At least 6 years of experience in software development.

• Proficiency in designing, developing, debugging, and testing software applications in C# and/or Python.

• Proven ability to operate effectively within a cross-functional engineering setting.

• Experience in leading projects and/or mentoring members of a software engineering team.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals.

• Familiarity with C#, C++, Java, and/or Python.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities with the capacity to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

• Experience in developing engineering tools, configuration tools, or applications utilized in regulated or technical settings is advantageous.

• Ability to balance technical execution with program priorities in a dynamic development environment.
