Lead Software Engineer – Edge Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Ensure the Cloud Edge Services maintain high levels of availability, resiliency, quality, and efficiency.

• Create tools and infrastructure for deploying, monitoring, and managing both production and non-production services.

• Utilize AI and automation tools to enhance development efficiency, manage infrastructure, and improve incident response.

• Optimize solutions focusing on quality, user-friendliness, reusability, and scalability.

• Generate comprehensive knowledge base documentation that includes testing, design specifics, usage instructions, maintenance details, configuration, and deployment notes.

• Operate within an agile framework.

• Engage in a predictable, rotating week-long on-call schedule with team support and flexible shift coverage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development.

• Proficient in Golang and/or Python.

• More than 4 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering role.

• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Over 3 years of experience working with Kubernetes and Docker.

• More than 2 years of experience using Terraform.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and methodologies.

• Experience with Content Delivery Networks and Service Mesh technologies.

• Ability to work collaboratively with team members located globally.

• A practical, collaborative approach to problem-solving and a readiness to learn.

• Experience with Istio Service Mesh, CDN, Kubernetes Ingress Controller/API Gateway, and Kubernetes Operators is a plus.
