This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
• Oversee a cross-functional team with direct involvement in all stages of software development, from defining requirements to integration and testing.
• Investigate, design, develop, modify, and assess embedded software for electronic and communications systems in conjunction with hardware product development.
• Lead and contribute to designated sections of the product development cycle utilizing Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Conduct requirements analysis, develop use case scenarios, perform conceptual design, execute trade studies, and carry out testing, operation, maintenance, and reliability analysis for radio communications products and systems.
• Partner with testing, manufacturing, product, and program management teams to establish and implement radio product development.
• Transform customer requirements into comprehensive systems solutions while balancing technical, scheduling, and cost considerations.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to assess hardware/software interfaces and overall system performance.
• Create software system testing protocols and design documentation.
• Utilize current DSP techniques and methodologies for real-time signal processing solutions.
• Contribute to the strategic vision for DSP solutions and identify opportunities for innovation.
• Work alongside Agile software engineering teams on cutting-edge real-time signal processing initiatives.
• Expect approximately 10% travel to the site for training purposes.
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline with at least 9 years of relevant experience in developing real-time embedded software in C or C++.
• Alternatively, a graduate degree accompanied by a minimum of 7 years of related experience.
• Or, in the absence of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in developing, designing, and implementing DSP algorithms.
• Experience in simulating and analyzing DSP algorithms.
• Ability to interpret hardware schematics, circuit designs, and datasheets effectively.
• Proficient in multi-threaded, multi-core design and/or real-time operating systems.
• Familiarity with all phases of the software project development life cycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, software unit testing, and automation tools.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies, specifically using SCRUM.
• Knowledge of CMMI systems and software development processes or other defined software development methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of analyzing and debugging software and associated hardware issues.
• Experience collaborating with FPGA design, development, and testing teams.
• Background in radio communications or IP networking.
• Proven experience in small team leadership, including planning, coaching, performance tracking, and implementing necessary adjustments.
• Eligibility to obtain US Security Clearance.
• Expect approximately 10% travel to the site for training purposes.
• Experience with DSP, embedded C++/C, and MATLAB.
