This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Offer technical leadership and direction, establish a technical vision, and ensure alignment between engineering efforts and product objectives.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated software solutions from the initial concept to final launch.
• Define and take ownership of the technical strategy and architecture for generative AI capabilities.
• Propel the roadmap and technical direction for AI-assisted tools.
• Create, develop, and sustain a knowledge graph that integrates Drive, intranet, and Slack into an AI-queryable data layer.
• Engage in team ceremonies, ensure sprint deliverables, and foster continuous process enhancement.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to establish requirements and technical narratives.
• Implement agile development methodologies, coding standards, and architectural frameworks.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Resolve complex technical issues and deliver innovative solutions.
• Facilitate technical design discussions and contribute to the overall system architecture.
• Conduct code reviews.
• Set knowledge-management standards and maintain thorough documentation.
• Identify opportunities for technological enhancements and innovations.
• Recognize and mitigate technical risks to ensure timely project delivery.
• A minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong technical leadership capabilities along with the ability to define a technical vision.
• Profound knowledge of agile software development methodologies and the entire software development lifecycle.
• Experience in developing LLM/GenAI applications, including prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic workflows.
• Familiarity with GCP Vertex AI is preferred.
• Experience in developing Slack applications or automating workflows, including knowledge of Slack API, Bolt SDK, and Workflow Builder.
• Proficient in API and webhook integrations.
• Experience in constructing and maintaining knowledge graphs or structured data layers for AI/ML retrieval systems.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to mentor and guide other engineers.
• Understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and system scalability.
• Expertise in designing and developing scalable, maintainable software solutions iteratively.
• Knowledge of agile development practices, coding standards, and testing methodologies.
• Familiar with AWS, Azure, or GCP and associated technologies.
• Ability to work efficiently in cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated experience in leading the delivery of complex software solutions within an agile framework.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or Go.
• Experience in AI/ML or LLM-based application development.
• Familiarity with workflow automation platforms.
• Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies.
