This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Design and create new systems while enhancing existing ones.
β’ Decompose complex challenges and develop effective solutions.
β’ Collaborate with product teams to gather requirements and produce design documentation.
β’ Architect and build high-traffic, large-scale full-stack applications that encompass front-end UI, web/API services, data models, data flows, and deployment infrastructure.
β’ Implement monitoring, alerting, automated build and deployment, as well as application performance systems.
β’ Maintain test coverage, adhere to enterprise standards, target architecture, ensuring high availability, scalability, low latency, and fault tolerance.
β’ Produce system and process documentation, onboarding checklists, overviews, runbooks, troubleshooting guidance, and recommendations for improvement.
β’ Facilitate solution design discussions and assess tools and technologies.
β’ Lead development teams by mentoring team members and conducting code reviews.
β’ Manage daily project delivery, engage in Agile stand-ups, address blockers, and communicate timelines and updates.
β’ Influence technical standards and practices beyond the immediate team.
β’ Shape technical strategy and roadmaps in collaboration with Tech Leads, architects, product teams, and senior stakeholders.
β’ Promote reusable engineering patterns and enhancements across related teams.
β’ Represent the team in cross-functional technical decision-making.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
β’ Proficient in one or more of Java, TypeScript, and NodeJS, with a willingness to learn the others.
β’ Demonstrable experience in building high-traffic web applications and deploying them to production environments.
β’ Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
β’ Experience in supporting live applications, troubleshooting, reading logs, and utilizing Grafana/AWS CloudWatch dashboards.
β’ Proficient in writing SQL queries and working with SQL databases such as MySQL, as well as NoSQL databases like DynamoDB.
β’ Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm.
β’ Familiarity with code and build tools including GitLab, CI/CD, Jenkins, and Sonar.
β’ Experience working within an Agile team framework.
β’ Capability to manage production issues and provide on-call support.
β’ Ability to perform well under pressure.
β’ Composed demeanor with a capacity to maintain a broad perspective.
β’ Strong verbal communication skills to effectively convey ideas and project status.
β’ Competence in documentation using Confluence, wikis, or similar platforms.
β’ Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, assess, and estimate workloads.
β’ Ability to collaborate with technical and product teams while managing expectations.
β’ Experience in running teams day-to-day without direct people management.
β’ UI design experience, exposure to entertainment/online ticketing, familiarity with diverse cultural and regulatory environments, and AI application in the SDLC are desirable.
