Lead Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee all stages of data processing system projects, from defining requirements to installation.

• Direct technical initiatives in the development, execution, and upkeep of intricate systems.

• Create test plans, software, and procedures that enhance processing capabilities.

• Maintain production systems by addressing complex issues and ensuring continuous functionality.

• Offer technical guidance to less experienced team members.

• Steer team efforts to assess and enhance departmental systems, processes, and applications.

• Build modules based on programming specifications and formulate testing methods.

• Aid in the creation of training materials.

• Design and implement test plans to verify application functions.

• Conceptualize modifications that integrate seamlessly within the existing system architecture.

• Provide technical assistance to production systems, anticipate maintenance needs, and ensure user functionality.

• Develop technical solutions for unique system challenges.

• Lead significant projects, delegate responsibilities, and guarantee high-quality outcomes.

• Mentor and train team members within the work group.

• Engage in special projects and meetings to provide essential technical insights.

• Act as a technical resource for management, team members, and business units.

• Gather data related to user requests and define scope, time estimates, and system impacts.

• Review business specifications, programming specifications, coding, test plans, documentation, and implementation plans for precision.

• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of experience in software application development and maintenance OR a High School Diploma or GED with 10 years of experience in software application development and maintenance.

• Preferred field of study: Computer Science.

• Experience with Debit and Credit Cards is a plus.

• Advanced proficiency in COBOL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, Easytrieve, and JCL.

• Familiarity with the source code repository Changeman is advantageous.

• Experience with ServiceNow or other IT service ticketing systems.

• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicting situations and advance processes and personnel.

• Capacity to cultivate strong collaborative and productive relationships.

• Willingness to be on call 24/7 on a rotating schedule.

• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with System Life Cycle Development methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.

• Previous banking experience is a plus.
