This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee software development projects for a diverse range of clients utilizing various technologies and frameworks.
β’ Quickly make an impact and establish trust with clients.
β’ Balance technology selections while ensuring the delivery of high-quality work within set deadlines.
β’ Facilitate discussions on architecture and software design.
β’ Collaborate throughout the entire ML lifecycle, from data ingestion and preprocessing to model deployment, integration, and performance monitoring.
β’ Develop both technical and non-technical solutions with team members and clients.
β’ Lead feedback discussions and retrospectives.
β’ Document results and drive actionable items.
β’ Ensure teams maintain healthy, prioritized, and estimated backlogs.
β’ Manage overarching project roadmaps for significant engagements.
β’ Sustain relationships with client technical leaders.
β’ Provide regular updates to clients, identify and assess risks, and present solutions.
β’ Identify, mitigate, and resolve obstacles.
β’ Mentor team members, lead or design workshops, represent 8th Light within the tech community, and support hiring initiatives.
β’ Contribute positively to team dynamics and the culture of 8th Light.
β’ Typically possess 7+ years of experience with a proven track record across various projects.
β’ Experience leading high-stakes consulting projects from initial discovery through to production.
β’ Proven experience in collaboratively building high-quality, maintainable software in an incremental manner.
β’ Production-level coding experience with languages and frameworks such as Java, C#/.NET, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Go, Ruby, Scala, R, and SQL.
β’ Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for tasks including scaffolding, refactoring, debugging, test generation, and documentation.
β’ Experience in developing or integrating AI/ML-powered functionalities.
β’ Proficient in automated testing methods.
β’ Skilled in debugging and refactoring existing code.
β’ Experience working with Git, MacOS/Linux, and CI/CD processes.
β’ Knowledgeable in addressing scalability, security, reliability, and performance issues.
β’ Experience in leading cross-functional collaboration and providing recommendations in uncertain situations.
β’ Background in mentoring and sharing expertise.
β’ Ability to balance technical aspects with product and user requirements.
β’ Strongly preferred: MLOps, LangChain, Data Engineering, Databricks, DevSecOps, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code.
