This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +35 more states.
β’ Design, develop, and enhance clearly defined software features within existing systems.
β’ Utilize engineering principles to analyze problems and assess solution alternatives with support.
β’ Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code adhering to established best practices.
β’ Create and execute unit tests and basic functional tests.
β’ Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and sessions for technical problem-solving.
β’ Diagnose bugs and technical challenges with increasing autonomy.
β’ Utilize contemporary development tools, version control systems, and testing frameworks.
β’ Document technical decisions and insights gained.
β’ Collaborate with engineers, product partners, and stakeholders to transform requirements into effective solutions.
β’ Commit to continuous learning and enhancement of software engineering skills.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience through internships, apprenticeships, bootcamps, open-source projects, or personal initiatives.
β’ Strong understanding of fundamental computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and software principles.
β’ Proficiency in at least one programming language and experience with version control, such as Git.
β’ Familiarity with contemporary development practices, including testing, build tools, and team workflows.
β’ Excellent problem-solving abilities, a curious mindset, and a desire to develop as an engineer.
β’ Experience in Agile or iterative development environments is advantageous.
β’ Background in working with shared codebases through academic coursework or projects is a plus.
β’ For roles based in the US, must currently be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
