This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 standards.
• Analyze customer contracts and document conclusions on revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Operations to assess contract terms and provide guidance on deal structure, revenue, and cash flow impacts.
• Examine revenue reconciliations, variance reports, and additional reporting to facilitate an accurate and timely financial closing.
• Assist with both internal and external audits, including SOX walkthroughs, control evidence, PBC schedules, and management responses.
• Support SSP considerations and enhance revenue recognition processes.
• Investigate technical accounting issues and create accounting memos for new guidance, non-standard transactions, and evolving business models.
• Aid in revenue accounting system upgrades and the integration of acquired entities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on novel deal models and technical revenue recognition topics.
• Recognize opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and automation.
• Work cross-functionally with teams in the United States and Latin America.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA is preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in Revenue Accounting, ideally within an enterprise IT, SaaS, or IT-enabled services environment.
• Comprehensive understanding of software licenses, maintenance, SaaS, and professional services revenue models, including Time & Materials, fixed-fee, and milestone-based arrangements.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite.
• Familiarity with revenue recognition platforms like Zuora RevPro, Certinia, or similar systems is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Tableau, MicroStrategy, or Power BI.
• Experience in researching technical accounting topics and drafting accounting memos and policies.
• Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capability to work independently under tight financial closing deadlines.
• Willingness to leverage AI for process automation and enhancements.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with effective stakeholder management.
• Ability to interpret and convey accounting, contractual, and financial information in both English and Spanish.
