Lead QA Engineer – 12 month contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Establish and execute the organization's quality assurance strategy and roadmap.

• Develop and implement thorough testing strategies throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Evaluate and prioritize the impact and scope of issues identified during testing.

• Provide reports on the coverage and effectiveness of testing strategies.

• Design and create scalable, maintainable automation frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testing.

• Incorporate automated tests and testing frameworks into CI workflows.

• Assess and choose appropriate testing tools and technologies.

• Create reusable frameworks, dashboards, and AI agents that empower product teams to enhance quality on their own.

• Work collaboratively with Product, Development, Operations, and technical stakeholders to ensure quality standards align with business objectives.

• Offer technical expertise to QA engineers and serve as the quality assurance subject matter expert throughout the organization.

• Enhance QA processes through automation, optimization, and the adoption of emerging practices, including AI-driven tools that demonstrably improve quality and efficiency.

• Provide technical leadership to the QA team and foster innovation in QA methodologies.

• Maintain the highest quality standards across all software products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 6 years of Quality Assurance experience, including a minimum of 2 years as a Senior QA Engineer, focusing on test automation.

• Proven success in designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks for intricate software initiatives.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as PHP, JavaScript, or Go, along with test automation tools and frameworks.

• Cloud certification and experience in large-scale environments utilizing AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Travis CI.

• Understanding of database technologies and SQL.

• Experience in API testing using OpenAPI, Swagger, or gRPC.

• Comprehensive knowledge of software development methodologies, quality assurance best practices, and industry standards.

• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across various teams.
