Lead QA Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop, maintain, enhance, and scale automated testing strategies.

• Design and optimize automated testing frameworks for the Shopify Hydrogen storefront and backend middleware.

• Incorporate automated tests into cloud-based CI/CD pipelines.

• Deliver quick and reliable feedback through test automation.

• Monitor and report on automation coverage, pipeline stability, test execution times, reduction of flaky tests, and production defect leakage.

• Conduct API contract testing, performance profiling, load testing, and browser developer tool profiling.

• Mentor, review, and support fellow QA developers.

• Elevate the technical standards within the QA team.

• Assist in enhancing the quality, stability, and reliability of React-based storefronts and internal middleware.

• Mitigate bugs and minimize defects from reaching production.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in QA development.

• More than 2 years of experience in leadership, mentorship, or coaching roles.

• Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript.

• Practical experience with Cypress, Playwright, or comparable automated testing frameworks.

• Background in architecting, optimizing, and scaling automated testing frameworks.

• Familiarity with Shopify Hydrogen storefronts and middleware.

• Experience in integrating automated tests into cloud-based CI/CD pipelines.

• Understanding of automation coverage, pipeline stability, test execution times, flaky test reduction, production defect leakage, and QA reporting.

• Knowledge of API contract testing, performance profiling, load testing, and browser developer tool profiling.

• A curious mindset, technical aptitude, and eagerness to investigate issues.

• Experience with Python, PHP, Figma, Storybook, or Jest is a plus.

• Humble, eager to learn, and adept in interpersonal skills.

• Required eCommerce experience, including significant expertise.
