Lead Process Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Generate project deliverables including process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, material balances, process calculations, utility summaries, timelines, simulations, equipment lists, equipment data sheets and specifications, as well as instrument data sheets and specifications.

• Collaborate with clients, contractors, project managers, and various engineering disciplines to ensure the development of effective, comprehensive, practical, and achievable project execution plans.

• Create process simulation models for both existing and proposed oil and gas facilities.

• Determine the sizing and specifications for equipment, including pressure safety valves (PSVs) and instrumentation, for current and future oil and gas facilities.

• Develop block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.

• Diagnose existing operational challenges in collaboration with operations teams.

• Conduct feasibility studies that encompass process design evaluation, cost estimating, and economic analysis.

• Engage in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, maintain facility drawings, and address Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) action items.

• Direct process design efforts for midstream facility and pipeline projects.

• Offer technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring for process designs while assisting the Process Engineering Director.

• Take charge of project teams as the lead engineer and coordinate various project design elements.

• Keep abreast of departmental design standards, relevant engineering codes, and Halker guidelines and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Oil & Gas Process Engineering.

• High proficiency in process simulation software such as HYSY, ProMax, and VMGSim.

• A solid understanding of departmental design standards, relevant engineering codes, and Halker’s guidelines and standards.
