This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct technical analyses concerning power electronics and control systems for renewable energy generation, battery storage systems, large industrial drives, and FACTS.

• Provide power systems engineering support to clients, encompassing modeling, analysis, equipment design and specification, as well as failure mode analysis.

• Develop, adjust, and parameterize simulation models that represent GE Vernova inverter-based resources (IBR) products, including wind turbines, solar energy systems, and battery storage solutions.

• Assess grid code compliance and the implications of renewable projects on bulk power systems.

• Aid in the development of IBR and distributed energy resource (DER) products connected to transmission and distribution systems, adapting to evolving codes and standards through active participation in industry standards groups.

• Execute transient studies in power systems and perform detailed equipment modeling utilizing suitable software tools.

• Cultivate a technical understanding of the electrical characteristics of GE Vernova’s power electronic generation and transmission products, along with their integration into electrical grids.

• Communicate findings effectively to both internal and external stakeholders by preparing comprehensive written reports or presentations that outline analyses conducted, solutions crafted, and value propositions for clients.

• Enhance industry knowledge and present technical information at regional forums and conferences; act as a thought leader in industry activities.

• Engage in a collaborative work environment where teamwork, quality, customer service, and innovation are highly valued.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, electric power engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of three (3) years of industry experience in conducting transient analysis using simulation tools such as PSCAD/EMTDC and EMTP, as well as steady-state and dynamic analysis with large database simulation tools like PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSLF, and DSATools (i.e., PSAT, TSAT, and SSAT).

• Three (3) years of relevant industry experience in utilizing and applying common programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, FORTRAN).

• Alternatively, a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, electric power engineering, or a related field is acceptable—no industry experience required for this qualification.

• Strong foundation in power system analysis.

• Comprehensive understanding of inverter-based resources (control system) design and application considerations, with experience in developing user-defined models.
