This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.

• Create and evaluate safety and non-safety-related electrical systems for nuclear and commercial projects.

• Collaborate with mechanical, nuclear, operations, and electrical engineering teams on electrical design and consulting.

• Utilize engineering methods, regulatory guidance, codes, standards, and engineering judgment to ensure compliant designs.

• Conduct engineering calculations, such as lighting, voltage drop, conductor sizing, and panel heat generation.

• Produce and assess wiring diagrams, single-line drawings, loop diagrams, control architectural drawings and specifications, as well as electrical and instrumentation specifications, data sheets, and control philosophy documents.

• Develop design documents and plant modifications in conjunction with designers.

• Create, oversee, and implement engineering analyses, activities, and programs to identify and address equipment and system issues.

• Apply design criteria, specifications, procedures, codes, and site design, safety, and licensing bases in design documentation.

• Participate in multidisciplinary project teams and integrate designs across various disciplines.

• Mentor and guide junior colleagues while conducting quality reviews of their work.

• Verify design documentation for accuracy and adherence to company policies and client expectations.

• Manage assigned timelines and initiate corrective actions to address delays.

• Suggest equipment, concepts, and methods to enhance performance, simplify designs, reduce costs, rectify flaws, or meet altered requirements.

• Assist in the installation and testing of site systems and components.

• Operate autonomously with minimal supervision.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical or engineering field is required.

• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is necessary.

• Experience in the nuclear industry is highly preferred.

• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desired.

• A master's degree is preferred.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in electrical design are required.

• Experience in leading electrical system design, including on-site distribution (AC and DC), off-site interfaces (switchyard), grounding and lightning protection, plant lighting systems, battery system design, communications systems, or diesel generators is necessary.

• Increasing familiarity with nuclear regulatory guidance, such as NUREG-0800 Chapter 8, is beneficial.

• Experience with relevant codes and standards, including IEEE, IEC, and EPRI, is important.

• Candidates must be U.S. citizens to be considered.

• Familiarity with national codes and standards applicable to electrical engineering is required.
