Lead Platform Engineer – Data & AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architecture, deployment, and operationalization of Huron's AI, Microsoft Fabric, and workflow platforms.

• Develop, construct, and sustain core platforms and tools that support Managed Services delivery for over 50 clients.

• Take ownership of the architecture, configuration, standardization, and continuous management of internal Azure DevOps environments.

• Manage requirements, backlog prioritization, sprint planning contributions, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployments for Salesforce workflow enhancements.

• Direct the design, development, and upkeep of internal AI-driven solutions and Claude AI projects.

• Coordinate client onboarding and implementation efforts for Microsoft Fabric deployments.

• Set up environments, create reporting foundations, and assist with data integration needs in collaboration with client IT and data teams.

• Offer technical architecture advice, review Power BI data models, and analyze reporting and data pipeline dependencies.

• Aid in the expansion of Managed Services processes into Salesforce and other enterprise platforms.

• Create technical documentation, platform standards, operational runbooks, and materials for knowledge sharing.

• Engage in the internal Tech Committee, assess emerging technologies, and mentor team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, cloud operations, or a technical systems role.

• Practical experience managing Azure DevOps (ADO), including pipeline configuration, work item oversight, governance, reporting, and multi-project administration.

• Familiarity with Salesforce administration, its platform capabilities, or development coordination.

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar cloud data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, or related technologies.

• Background in designing or supporting AI and large language model (LLM) solutions, including prompt engineering, workflow automation, AI tool adoption, or integrations using Claude, OpenAI, or comparable platforms.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proven experience managing multiple priorities and stakeholders in cross-functional internal and client-facing environments.

• Experience in a Managed Services, consulting, or client delivery organization is preferred.

• Microsoft certifications in Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, or related technologies are preferred.

• Knowledge of Salesforce Flows, Process Builder, workflow automation, or experience working with system integrators and external development partners is preferred.

• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, or other scripting languages utilized for automation and platform development is preferred.

• Experience in evaluating, piloting, or implementing enterprise AI solutions and governance practices is preferred.

• Exposure to data visualization and reporting solutions, including Power BI architecture and administration is preferred.

• Experience contributing to technical standards, governance committees, or mentoring junior technical team members is preferred.
