This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Design and develop printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
• Position components within specified size constraints and route metal traces accordingly.
• Conduct milestone reviews with design engineers and manufacturing process engineers.
• Release PCB and CCA schematics.
• Ensure that electrical, physical, manufacturing, and assembly specifications are fulfilled.
• Create and generate drawings and documentation for PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
• Revise PCB designs in accordance with engineering design modifications.
• Assist the design team in addressing design challenges.
• Update drawings and documentation as per engineering change requests.
• Generate ECAD library footprints and schematic symbols as needed.
• Provide support for the backend management and upkeep of ECAD tools.
• A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 7 years of related experience.
• Alternatively, a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Several years of experience in PCB design or a comparable mix of education, training, and/or experience in PCB design.
• Proficient skills and experience with ECAD software applications and associated equipment.
• Specific experience with Siemens (formerly Mentor Graphics) Xpedition software is preferred.
• Solid experience and understanding of PCB design technologies, PCB layout techniques, electrical schematics, and PCB fabrication and assembly drawings are preferred.
• Working knowledge of IPC design standards, particularly design for manufacturability, is preferred.
• Familiarity with ASME/ANSI documentation standards is desirable.
• Knowledge of IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, and IPC-A-610 standards is preferred.
• IT experience in supporting backend management and maintenance of ECAD tools, such as Siemens Xpedition and EDM.
• An associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and/or IPC CID certification is preferred.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is advantageous.
