This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Design and develop printed circuit board layouts for circuit card assemblies, utilizing feedback and inputs from electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing process engineers.
• Position components within designated size constraints and route metal traces accordingly.
• Conduct milestone reviews with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project progress.
• Release PCB and CCA drawings for production.
• Confirm that electrical and physical specifications adhere to design requirements.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturing and assembly standards.
• Create and produce drawings and documentation necessary for PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
• Modify PCB designs in response to engineering design changes.
• Support the design team in troubleshooting and resolving design challenges.
• Revise drawings and documentation as per engineering change requests.
• Develop ECAD library footprints and/or schematic symbols as needed.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of related experience.
• Alternatively, a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Several years of experience in PCB design or a comparable mix of education, training, and/or experience in PCB design.
• Proficient skills and experience with ECAD software applications and associated equipment.
• Experience with Siemens (formerly Mentor Graphics) Xpedition software is preferred.
• Solid understanding and experience in PCB design technologies, PCB layout methodologies, electrical schematics, and PCB fabrication and assembly drawings is desired.
• Practical knowledge of IPC design standards, including design for manufacturability, as well as ASME/ANSI documentation standards is desired.
• Relevant IPC standards include IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, and IPC-A-610.
• IT experience with backend management and maintenance of ECAD tools, such as Siemens Xpedition and EDM.
• An Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and/or IPC CID certification is preferred.
• A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is advantageous.
