This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create and uphold intricate mechanical assemblies through the use of advanced parametric CAD modeling in SolidWorks and/or Creo.

• Develop comprehensive layouts and assemblies that include structural components, enclosures, piping systems, thermal parts, pumps, valves, and mounting interfaces.

• Ensure that designs fulfill performance, thermal, structural, manufacturability, serviceability, and customer specifications.

• Address system-level mechanical integration issues, such as packaging limitations and interface definitions.

• Implement configuration- and revision-controlled CAD designs for various product variants, options, and updates.

• Preserve model stability and integrity as engineering modifications are made.

• Apply engineering changes while ensuring traceability, configuration compatibility, and minimal disruption to production.

• Synchronize CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and PLM data throughout different lifecycle phases.

• Generate and maintain production-ready manufacturing drawings inclusive of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, materials, finishes, and inspection criteria.

• Design parts and assemblies for DFM/DFA, fabrication, welding, machining, and final assembly processes.

• Assist with prototype constructions, pilot production, and resolve manufacturing issues through design updates and documentation corrections.

• Ensure designs facilitate repeatable, high-yield manufacturing across various sites, suppliers, and production volumes.

• Coordinate mechanical-electrical interfaces, routing paths, and packaging clearances in collaboration with electrical engineering.

• Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and production teams regarding build challenges, component modifications, and feedback.

• Offer technical insights during design reviews, readiness assessments for release, and discussions on product changes.

• Contribute to CAD standards, modeling practices, and the quality of documentation.

• Engage with customers and supply chain partners to evaluate requirements, identify challenges, and design comprehensive infrastructure solutions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 8 years of practical mechanical CAD design experience with complex, multi-component assemblies.

• Expert level of proficiency in Creo and/or SolidWorks, with a focus on advanced parametric modeling techniques.

• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerancing, and manufacturing documentation.

• Demonstrated experience in executing configuration-controlled designs across multiple product variants and lifecycle stages.

• Ability to autonomously manage complex technical tasks with minimal supervision.

• Preferred: experience in power and cooling systems, including switchgear, PDC, UPS, Busway, chillers, CDUs, liquid cooling platforms, or thermal management systems.

• Preferred: familiarity with fluid systems design, including piping, fittings, valves, pumps, filters, and heat exchangers.

• Preferred: background in industrial, infrastructure, or data center-class equipment.

• Preferred: knowledge of PLM systems and formal product release and change procedures.

• Preferred: experience in supporting NPI and sustaining engineering within production settings.

• Senior-level hands-on CAD execution capability.

• High technical rigor and meticulous attention to detail.

• Strong discipline in configuration and documentation.

• Proficient in systems-level mechanical problem-solving.

• Ability to function in fast-paced, change-oriented engineering environments.
