This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and manage both small and large controls projects with a focus on technical execution and effective project oversight.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to successfully complete projects.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and address controls engineering challenges.
• Design digital systems, including PLC, DCS, HSI, and networked computing solutions.
• Create functional and implementation requirements along with procurement specifications for nuclear plant control systems.
• Engage with clients to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
• Draft and review technical reports, calculations, and studies.
• Manage resource allocation and loading, while developing estimates for task completion and budgets.
• Assist in the development of proposals.
• Prepare and review diagrams and drawings for new and improved controls solutions.
• Evaluate vendor proposals from a technical standpoint.
• Coordinate with vendors, review documentation, ensure equipment compliance, and witness FAT performance on behalf of clients.
• Support the implementation of projects at client facilities.
• Champion the use of data, automation, and AI to enhance engineering workflows and supervise automated outputs.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in instrumentation and controls systems design engineering within a project team setting.
• Experience in commercial or industrial applications, particularly in integrated and detailed system design modifications.
• Professional Engineering license is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical expertise in available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems for system design.
• Experience serving as the client liaison in a support or leading engineering capacity.
• Proficient in reviewing design documentation.
• Willingness or capacity to lead others utilizing data, automation, and modern tools such as AI.
• Ability to oversee engineering automation with tools like Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel is appreciated but not mandatory.
• Additional knowledge or experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related areas is valued.
